"Nice safe driver, would rebook 100%"

"This was my second time booking with this driver—and it will be the LAST. The experience has only gotten worse. I did not realize it was the same driver from my previous trip to Gatineau, otherwise I would have never booked again. Terrible communication, terrible customer service, intimidating behaviour. This driver clearly has issues. FULL DETAILED SUMMARY (for my own record and to warn others): I arrived at my pickup location at 7:02 AM for a 7:00 AM ride, which I had already communicated to the driver in advance. He was parked on the right side of where my Uber dropped me off, in the same Burger King/Namur parking lot. While on the phone, I asked him multiple times to describe his car and provide the license plate so I could easily identify him, since the parking lot was full of drivers. He ignored this request every time and instead kept prolonging the call. Instead of answering a simple question, he gave deliberately misleading and confusing directions, such as: * “Keep walking” * “Turn that way” * “No, the other side” * “I am not at that parking” * “Walk towards the cart” There were carts everywhere due to the nearby Walmart, so this made no sense and was not helpful. Because of how confusing and inconsistent his directions were, I had to ask a random stranger for help just to understand where he was. Even that person could not understand the directions the driver was giving. Meanwhile, the driver could have simply: * Provided his car description or plate * Given clear directions * Stepped out, waved, or come get me Instead, he chose not to, and continued giving misleading instructions. He also falsely claimed he was not in that parking lot, which made me walk further away toward the road near traffic around Namur. This was completely unnecessary. Reality: He was parked RIGHT NEXT to where my Uber dropped me off the entire time. Another passenger in the driver’s car noticed how odd and unpleasant the situation was. That passenger became uncomfortable enough that he stepped out of the car himself to come get me, and told me to ignore the driver’s behaviour and to leave a review. When I finally got into the car, the driver admitted that he saw me step out of my Uber the entire time. So naturally I asked him: what was so difficult about simply giving the car details? Important Context Before Pickup: When I booked this trip, I was the only passenger, so I was concerned he might cancel or not show up—something that has happened before with drivers claiming last-minute excuses. Because of that, I texted him 1–2 hours before the trip to confirm he would still travel. Noticing that I was going to be 1 minute late, I decided to inform driver. His response was already aggressive and intimidating. He told me I was “disturbing” or “nagging” him about the trip, yet I couldn’t even make it on time. He said he would not wait and would leave. This is despite the fact that: * I left my house very early * Namur is 13 km from my home * I informed him clearly that I would be about 1 minute late based on Uber GPS Conclusion: The situation at the parking lot did not feel accidental. It felt deliberate, like an attempt to: * Mislead me * Stress me out * Intimidate me Refusing to provide basic identifying information while knowing exactly where I was is suspicious and unacceptable behaviour. This experience felt like psychological intimidation and gaslighting, creating an uncomfortable and stressful start to the trip for no reason. I strongly advise others to avoid this driver."
