"Unsafe, unhygienic, aggressive, and rude. I felt relieved to finish the ride unharmed and not have to call the police.
It was the worst Poparide ride I have ever had in my life.
When we started from Toronto, there were seven people in the car—it was completely packed. One passenger had booked through another app (KangarooRide), and the driver placed him in the front seat. There were two female passengers; it would have been more appropriate to seat both of them in the middle row for comfort and safety. Surprisingly, one was placed in the back corner. The other joined later after I had arrived. The driver asked me to sit in the back beside the other female passenger so that he could keep the other female passenger in the middle row. I was surprised and asked whether a more comfortable arrangement could be made, but the driver insisted. The female passenger in the back seat also found it pretty crowded, although she was a nice person and we had a good conversation.
During the journey from Toronto to Ottawa, the driver stopped four times. Three stops were expected, but one was shocking—the driver stopped on the side of the highway to urinate, which was very unhygienic.
Due to the overcrowded car, there was hardly any room. Initially, I kept my bags in the back. At Kingston, three passengers got off, creating more space, so I brought my bag forward and kept it on the floor near me. The driver told me he does not allow bags on seats, even if they are empty. I have never seen this rule with other drivers. Still, I followed his instructions and kept the bag in front, not on the seat.
When we stopped in Nepean, I went to the washroom. When I returned, I could not find my bag, and the car had already started moving. I asked the driver about it; he said it was in the back. This means he moved my bag even without asking me, even though the bag was on the floojr and not causing any inconvenience. I could not see it from the front, so I asked again. He then stopped the car on the highway, went to the back, grabbed my bag, and aggressively showed it to me, asking me to check.
He was shouting, using abusive language, and behaving in a very disrespectful manner. I have never seen anything like this, especially from a Poparide driver. It was very scary.
I considered calling 911. We were about 20 minutes away from downtown Ottawa, where my wife was waiting. Considering the other passengers, I decided to continue.
Finally, the ride ended—a huge relief.
I am not sure whether this review will be published, but I strongly warn others to avoid this driver for their own safety."
