We’re so excited to share the very first Popaletter, a semi-regular round-up of the latest happenings in our carpool community!
Wowzers! What a travelsome start of the year it has been!
Together, we filled over 80,000 empty seats in cars and had 40,000 members share nearly 15 million km together, creating countless casual collisions and preventing over 2,300 metric tons of CO2.
All the while, we continued growing at an unprecedented rate, helping more and more people get access to safe, convenient, and crowdsourced rides.
This impact and growth is amazing and it’s all thanks to you—our members—who trust each other to share the road every day in a way that is more social, affordable, and sustainable for everyone.

From the Rockies to the Great Lakes
Out West, Whistler continues to draw outdoor enthusiasts from Squamish (and Vancouver). Out East, Montreal and Ottawa were the most popular destinations, with many members visiting family & friends on the weekends.
In between East and West, we’re seeing an increasing number of people join Poparide, with some growing interest in places like Banff, Canmore, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Saskatoon. If you have friends in those areas, make sure to refer them to Poparide, you’ll get $5 off for each friend who takes their first Poparide!

Back to the future
Over the last months, we invested in our Support Team to ensure we always respond within 24 hours when you reach out.
We also made adjustments to our pricing to ensure our prices remain affordable across all routes, at all times.
Next up, we will be busy streamlining driver & passenger interactions around pick-up locations and improving our trip booking process.
These are all exciting updates which will lead to safer, more reliable rides for everyone!
