"Hostile and Unprofessional Experience Oluwapelumi’s trip was Quebec City - Montreal - Ottawa (my pick up spot being Montreal). She was thoughtful enough to message before hand advising that the arrival time might vary by up to 45 mins due to traffic. I appreciated the transparency and arrived early, texting her at 5:58 p.m. to confirm I was waiting. (Sitting at the closest bench I could find to the meeting spot less than 40m away). At 6:35 p.m., she texted “where are you” and called me at 6:36pm. She immediately began speaking to me in an aggressive tone, accusing me of not being at the meeting spot (basically of lying) and of being late. I continued to walk along to street looking for her and even walked past her car within 40 seconds of the call without realizing it was her, partly because the license plate was not provided on the app. Even after we found each other, she continued berating me loudly in public, drawing attention - another driver who we walked by noticed the public confrontation and kindly asked my destination (likely trying to offer an alternative ride) after realizing it was not a positive interaction. Once we reached the car things calmed down but she maintained her position and I repeatedly told her I was here since the expected time and even pointing to the bench I had sat on (almost within the view of the car). Eventually she checked her phone and did see my message from 40 minutes prior confirming my arrival but offered no acknowledgment or apology. After this point it was like nothing had happened we even talked a bit during the ride but it was strange considering our initial interaction was not addressed. I want to reiterate that I did my best to maintain my position without antagonizing Oluwapelumi but was met with hostility from the start of the phone call. Hope sharing this helps improve future experiences because an apology or at least an acknowledgement of a misunderstanding could have avoided this entire experience. Recommendations for Poparide:     •    Require drivers to post license plate numbers for easy identification.     •    Remind drivers to maintain a professional, respectful tone with passengers."
