We’re looking for a People Lead who cares deeply about creating great places to work. You’ll help intentionally build and sustain a strong, values-driven culture, taking ownership of the employee experience end-to-end. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in lean teams and brings energy, structure, and heart to how people join, grow, and succeed at Poparide.
You’ll join a small but mighty team of 22 people at a key moment. We’re profitable, intentional about staying lean, and proud of our “small but mighty” approach. This role exists to proactively strengthen culture, engagement, and people operations to build a workplace where people feel connected, supported, and proud to contribute over the long term.
You have…
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a People & Culture Generalist or HRBP.Â
- Proven experience supporting senior leaders in a startup or lean, resource-constrained environments (fully-remote environment, an asset).Â
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and work culture.Â
- Experience with organizational design, change management, and talent development.
- A proactive, innovative, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Comfort working in ambiguity and building structure where little exists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A genuine interest in social impact, sustainability, and mission-driven work.
- A passion for creating best-in-class employee experiences.Â
Bonus points for having
- Experience supporting geographically distributed teams and an understanding of labour law outside of Canada.Â
- Knowledge of French.Â
- Have your CHRP/CPHR or equivalent designation
What you will be doing
- People Strategy: Partner with leadership to build and drive a scalable people strategy aligned with Poparide’s mission, values, goals, and remote-first culture.
- Talent & Growth: Own how people join and grow at Poparide; leading inclusive hiring, performance, development, and career frameworks that connect individual goals to company priorities.
- Learning & Leadership: Build learning, leadership, and manager development programs that encourage continuous growth and improvement.Â
- Compensation & Rewards: Design and lead a fair, competitive, and transparent total rewards approach across compensation, benefits, incentives, and recognition.
- Engagement & Culture: Champion engagement and act as the steward and driver of culture through rituals, events, offsites, co-working, committees, and feedback loops that bring our values to life and make Poparide a fun, meaningful place to work.
- People Operations & Compliance: Own people operations, policies, and compliance across jurisdictions, staying ahead of best practices as we scale.
- People Insights: Develop and measure against People KPIs, tracking and translating engagement and people data into clear priorities and actions.Â
- Employee Support: Be a trusted, approachable partner to the team; supporting conflict resolution, employee wellbeing and psychological safety.
Compensation & location
- Full-time, remote role (Ontario or British Columbia, Canada)
- Base salary starting at CAD $100,000, plus profit-sharingÂ
- Equity through the Employee Stock Options Plan (ESOP)
- 20 paid holiday days per year and another 10 paid statutory days off per year
